Ticos con arranque perfecto en los Juegos Mundiales Junior de Surf

Costa Ricans with a perfect start at the Junior World Surfing Games

San Marcos University presents the news of the day.

Costa Rican surfers got off to a good start at Huntington Beach.

With an excellent rhythm and demonstrating piece by piece the great level of national talent that represents us in a new edition of the Junior World Surfing Games in Huntington Beach, this is how the tricolor team faced the first day of competition in difficult wave conditions.

On day 1 of action, all Costa Rican athletes will compete, with the exception of the Under 16 category, which will enter the water on Tuesday.

The challenging waves of the legendary Huntington Beach pier would not be an obstacle for Malakai Martinez, Sebastian Mora, Cedric McCrakin, Darshan Antequera, Paulina Summers, Eva Woodland, Coral Wiggins and Leonardo Apreda to already be in the second round in their respective categories.

"I'm coming focused and very confident, I hope to have a good connection with the ocean at the event and I'm mentally prepared heat by heat," Malakai Martínez said.

The competition will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, on the second of nine days scheduled for the event.
