The Playlist with Aaron Ramirez

Skullcandy presents the note of the day.

What Aaron Ramirez hears in his daily life.

Many sports psychologists recommend listening to music to boost motor performance and improve our performance in any physical activity we undertake.

The usefulness of music helps in the learning and refinement of motor skills, bringing with it an increase in an athlete's sporting performance.

Music has been shown to stimulate and focus an individual's attention on the physical function being performed, while also minimizing the feeling of fatigue that accompanies exercise.

Knowing this important data, we created this section to learn a little more about what some national athletes listen to; this time, "The Playlist" will be provided by Aarón Ramirez from Jacoba.

What kind of music does Aaron usually listen to?

"I usually listen to all kinds of music: rap, reggaeton, and everything Spotify plays."

What's your go-to music for workouts?

"When I train, I listen to motivational music and I also listen to a lot of rap."

Do you have any particular music for the tournaments?

"In tournaments I start with rap and then I listen to some Christian music to calm down."

Do you have different songs for training and for competition?

"The music I listen to while training is almost always the same as the music I listen to while competing. The only difference is that when I'm about to compete, I listen to some Christian music at the end to calm my mind."

Do you think music has a positive effect on your performance?

"I feel that listening to music before a heat is good because it helps you concentrate a little more and separate yourself a little from distractions."
