The tournament went from being invitational to having a qualifying round.
One of the world's most important aerial surfing events, which previously was by invitation only, has now incorporated a preliminary qualifying round, giving more surfers the opportunity to participate.
Registrations for the qualifying events can be made through the Surfing Australia website via the following link: https://www.surfingaustralia.com/

For the preliminary round there will be two qualifying events, which will be held in Australia, the first being on January 28th in Maroubra Beach, Australia and the second on February 8th or 9th on the Gold Coast.
The winners of these rankings will be eligible to compete in the main Red Bull Airborne tournament at Snapper Rocks between March 26 and April 5, during the first stage of the CT 2020.
