Carlos Muñoz did not receive the season wildcard despite being injured in a WSL-exclusive event and will seek to re-enter the CT via Challenger.

The World Surf League (WSL) announced a few minutes ago which surfers will be participating via season wildcard in the second part of the CT 2022 and the first part of the CT 2023.
The organization decided to award wildcards to Brazilians Yago Dora and Gabriel Medina in the men's category, while in the women's category the beneficiaries will be Caroline Marks (USA) and Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS).

Costa Rican surfer Carlos Muñoz will unfortunately not receive the season wildcard awarded to surfers who were injured during the competition season; however, the World Surf League decided not to consider "Cali" and instead award the wildcard to the competitors mentioned above.
Muñoz's mission now will be to fully recover and compete in the next possible challenger events, in order to re-enter the top surfing league.
