Surf City El Salvador Pro 2022 will feature two Costa Ricans competing.

For the second time in the history of Costa Rican surfing, the world surfing tour will feature two Costa Ricans in a CT event.
Surfer Brisa Hennessy is currently a constant competitor on the world tour, a Costa Rican who makes us proud with her presence on the CT, however, the joy will now come in two parts, at least for one more date.
This is because the WSL announced today the wildcards it will be offering for the Surf City El Salvador Pro 2022 event, which includes the return of Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz, who, as we recall, had been unable to continue his season after suffering an injury at Pipeline that took him out of the tour.

The organization determined the replacement wildcards for Yago Dora, who will replace the injured Seth Moniz, and Carlos Muñoz, who will replace John John Florence, who was injured at the last tour stop. In the women's division, the wildcards were awarded to Caroline Marks, who returns to the world tour, and Tia Blanco.

In addition to these replacement wildcards, the WSL will award 1 female and 1 male wildcard, which will come from the trials that will be held prior to the event. In this modality, the local Bryan Pérez stands out, who, if he wins them, could be in the event.

The organizers have already set the matchups for the event, where Muñoz will face Kelly Slater and Jack Robinson, while Hennessy will take on Caroline Marks and Isabella Nichols.
An interesting fact about the presence of Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz is that "Cali" knows what it is to triumph in an ALAS event and be crowned Latin champion in the Salvadoran waves, after achieving it in 2020 at Playa El Tunco.
The Surf City El Salvador Pro 2022 will be held in the town of Punta Roca, La Libertad and will start on June 12 with a maximum completion date of the 20th of this same month.
