Surfing Republica - Ticos deberán superar rivales australianos y estadounidenses en su primer heat en el Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2023

Surfing Republica - Costa Ricans will have to overcome Australian and American rivals in their first heat at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2023

Carlos will face Ethan Ewing and Nat Young, while Brisa will face Stephanie Gilmore and Courtney Conlogue.

The WSL has announced the heats for the fourth and penultimate CT stop before the mid-year cutoff. This cutoff reduces the number of competitors for the remaining five stops on the tour, where only the top 24 male surfers and the top 12 female surfers will be able to compete for a spot in the WSL Finals.

In this fourth event, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2023 will feature two Costa Rican surfers who currently face somewhat different situations regarding requalification and securing an Olympic berth. Brisa Hennessy has her Olympic spot practically guaranteed, with only an injury or an unusual competition situation potentially preventing her from competing. However, she will still need to fight for requalification. Muñoz, on the other hand, must achieve requalification and a possible Olympic berth for Paris 2024 in the two remaining events before the mid-year cutoff.

This will be the first time that “Cali” competes in the waves of Bells Beach and he will have to face Australian Ethan Ewing and American Nat Young in the first heat of the men's opening round.

On the other hand, Brisa, located in the sixth heat of the women's opening round, will be challenging the waves of Bells Beach for the third time, and this time she will open her campaign against Australian and current world champion Stephanie Gilmore and American Courtney Conlogue.

The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2023 will start on April 4th and could run until the 14th of the same month. Please note that Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia is 17 hours ahead of our country.
