Leilani showed the high level she brings to the challenge dates, while Brisa demonstrates why she is currently the best surfer in the world.
In a day full of great emotions at the Gold Coast Pro, the second day of competition was held yesterday in Australia, where both men and women saw participation.
For Costa Rica, surfers Leilani McGonagle and Brisa Hennessy faced exciting and high-level heats; however, the nationals managed to overcome their surfing and both advanced to the next round.

With this passage to the second round, the Costa Ricans will face rivals of a higher level and thus consequently each series they advance the challenge will be greater each time.
McGonagle, now in the round of 32 competitors, will face Hawaiian CT surfer Gabriela Bryan, American talent Kirra Pinkerton, and South African Sarah Baum in the first heat. This will be an interesting test for the Pavones native as she aims to secure a spot among the top five surfers who will compete on the 2023 CT.

Brisa, meanwhile, will face Australian rivals and a Peruvian in the fourth heat: Nikki Van Dijk, Macy Callaghan, and Arena RodrÃguez. Two of these rivals have already surfed on the CT, while the other is a talented Peruvian surfer who dreams of joining the top surfing league.

The next call to competition is scheduled for 2:45 pm Costa Rican time, where we will find out if the Costa Rican women will compete today or if they will have to wait to return to the water.
