World Games will be the first direct qualifying event for Paris 2024.
The first direct qualifiers for Paris 2024 will emerge from the waves of La Bocana and El Sunzal.
The 2023 ISA World Surfing Games, which will take place from May 30 to June 7, will award direct Olympic spots for the regions of Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania. In total, there will be four spots, that is, one per region for the surfer with the best ranking.

For this World Championship, in the case of the Americas region, there will be no direct qualification, as this spot will be awarded to the gold medalist of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, provided that the hierarchical order of qualification is respected, which is as follows:
- WSL Championship Tour (CT) 2023 - 10 Olympic places.
- Continental representation (WSG 2023) - five Olympic places . (The place from the 2023 Pan American Games is taken into account).
- ISA World Surfing Games 2024 - five Olympic slots. (If a National Olympic Committee exceeds the number of athletes allowed for the Paris 2024 Games, the slot for the ISA 2023 World Surfing Games or the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games will be reassigned to the highest-ranked surfer in the continent and event to be determined).

- ISA World Surfing Games 2024 - one place (per National Olympic Committee) The highest ranked National Olympic Committee will have one extra place for the Paris 2024 Games.
- ISA World Surfing Games 2022 - one place (per National Olympic Committee) The highest ranked National Olympic Committee will have one extra place for the Paris 2024 Games. 
- Universality places - one Olympic place. (It will be awarded by a Tripartite Commission that will define the National Olympic Committee that will have the benefit, however, the chosen surfer must be within the top 50 athletes of the ISA World Surfing Games 2023 or 2024).
- Host country quota - one quota per gender. (In case France already has its quota of two)Â athletes established for the games, the host spot will be awarded to another NOC).
In total, 24 men and 24 women will compete in the Olympic Games in Tahiti, Paris 2024.
