Surfing Republica - Seven Costa Ricans will compete in a QS 3,000 pt stop in the United States

Five Costa Rican men and two women will begin their quest for victory in the Vans Pro tomorrow.
The Vans Pro 2022, a 3,000-point QS stop on the World Surf League (WSL), kicks off tomorrow. The event will take place from August 23-28 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

This QS stop will feature seven Costa Ricans, five in the male category, which are: Tomas King, Esteban Chaves, Malakai MartĂnez, Darshan Antequera and Sam Reidy, while on the female side, there will be the national representatives Leilani McGonagle and Rubiana Brownell. 
Three nationals will start from the first round, we are talking about Tomas King, Esteban Chaves and Malakai Martinez, while those seeded in the second round in their respective categories will be Leilani McGonagle, Rubiana Brownell, Darshan Antequera and Sam Reidy. 
“For me, it is a great motivation to be able to be at this important event and representing Costa Rica. I hope to give my best in search of the best possible result,” said Rubiana Brownell.
This commitment is worth 3,000 points, therefore a good performance from the Costa Rican representatives will be fundamental in order to accumulate as many points as possible to try to obtain qualification for the 2024 Challenger dates at the end of the season.
