Surfing Republica - Resumen del accionar de los ticos durante el primer día del Mundial Junior

Surfing Republica - Summary of the Costa Ricans' performance during the first day of the Junior World Championship

Three Costa Ricans advance to the second round and three nationals will continue from the repechage round.

Today marked the start of another edition of the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship, and our country saw competition in the under 18 male and under 16 female categories.

In the morning, it was Jesús Pérez's turn to compete, the first Costa Rican to participate in the games. Pérez debuted, showing good surfing; however, he finished third in his heat and was sent to the repechage round.

Then came the opportunity for Rachel Agüero who, in the under 16 category, would seek to advance in the event, but unfortunately she would not achieve the desired result and now she will have to face the path of the repechage.

Next up was Tosh Talbot, who tried to catch some good waves, but he finished fourth in the series and will also have to try to advance in the event from the repechage round.

The joys for Costa Rica were yet to come, as both Tamaya Murphrey and Erika Berra managed to advance to the second round of the world championship in second and first position, respectively, and will continue along the main path of the event.

The last turn of the day for the Costa Ricans would be in charge of the Caribbean Axel Castro, who showed consistency in his surfing and despite coming from an injury, managed to secure second place and will compete in the second main round of the tournament.

The schedule for tomorrow is yet to be announced, and we will bring you all the information about it in the next few hours.
