Freestylers from various Central American countries have submitted their videos. Meet the 16 finalists who will compete live on September 3rd for a spot in the International Final in Mexico.

Hundreds of freestylers from the Dominican Republic, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua have submitted their participation videos through the Red Bull Batalla app to secure their place in this Red Bull Batalla Centroamérica 2022 , which will be held for the first time in the competition's history . The event will take place in Santo Domingo , Dominican Republic, on September 3rd in a closed-door event.

 

The jury has deliberated and has decided on the names that make up the list of those selected , which are :

Costa Rica has its caravan ready for this highly anticipated event, featuring veterans Cehzar , SNK, and P8, along with rising star Eros EQ. In addition to the participants, Costa Rican talent will also be represented by casters . with Daniel Álvarez , also known as “El Danny CR”, along with one of the event hosts , “Bana”, a Mexican resident of Costa Rica who has promoted much of the scene in our country.

The 13 selected through this process join those who were already qualified as the current National Champions : Éxodo Lirical ( Dominican Republic) , P8 (Costa Rica) and Indian ( Panama) .

 

This event has the character of a National Final, meaning that whoever wins the Central American trophy will have their pass to represent the region in the Red Bull Batalla Final International 2022 that will be held in Mexico at the end of the year.

 

Where and when to watch Red Bull Batalla Centroamérica 2022 ?

The event will be broadcast on Saturday, September 3rd , on Red Bull Batalla's channels. YouTube , Facebook , Twitch , Red Bull TV , with commentary by Tess La and Jony Beltrán .

 

The broadcast schedule:

· 3 PM - United States (PT)

· 4 PM - Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras.

· 5 PM - Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Panama.

· 6 PM - Chile, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Paraguay.

The pre- show The draw for the keys will be at 5:45 PM (Dominican Republic local time ) exclusively on Red Bull TV .

Judges: Those in charge of deciding who takes the trophy will be: Gaudy ( Dominican Republic) , Yartzi ( Puerto Rico) and the Red Bull Batalla 2020 International Champion, Rapder (Mexico) .

 

Hosts : The event will have on stage, Colombian style Arci , aka María José Arcila, a prolific artist in the Latin American Hip Hop scene and Bana. As casters , commenting on each participant's performances from their perspective and analysis , will be the MCs Eldanny /aka of Daniel Mendoza (Colombia) and Clipper /aka of Josefina Tomás (Uruguay) .

 

The beats for the battles will be provided by DJ Sonicko .

ABOUT RED BULL BATTLE

Red Bull Batalla was officially launched in 2005. It was the first time national finals and an international final were held, the latter taking place in Puerto Rico, a country many consider the birthplace of MC battles . In this first edition, judges specializing in the scene evaluated rappers who improvised over rhythmic beats, with added challenges such as surprise themes.

 

The roots of this scene find a deep connection in both hip hop and the improvisational style of traditional troubadours, evolving in Latin America into its own style independent of traditional North American hip hop.

 

Red Bull gives young artists – called MCs – the opportunity to train, demonstrate and improve their unique improvisational skills and talents.
