Surfing Republica - Realizan jornada de siembra “cero emisiones” en Pedasí, de la mano de InterEnergy y Evergo

Surfing Republica - A "zero emissions" tree planting day was held in PedasĂ, in collaboration with InterEnergy and Evergo.

InterEnergy and Evergo carried out a symbolic planting, within the framework of the Pan American Surf Games celebration in Playa Venao, making it the first zero emissions planting thanks to the use of electric vehicles.

With more than 50 students from schools near Playa Venao, accompanied by their families and teachers, they were able to enjoy a day dedicated to the protection of the environment, in which they received talks about the process of planting a plant and renewable energies.

“If we want to commit to a greener future, education and awareness among new generations are key to generating best practices. Topics such as renewable energy and electric mobility are already part of these children's lives, and in just a few years they will become leading figures in sustainability,” said Mónica Lupiañez, Director of the Renewables Division at InterEnergy Group and Country Manager of InterEnergy Panama, who led the energy workshop for these students.

The planting event was carried out jointly with the mayor of Pedasí, Miguel Batista. After the day's activities, held at the Surf Factory in Playa Venao, the participating children enjoyed a ride on Evergo's 100% electric bus and took home saplings from a total of 12 seedlings (including three varieties: corotú, guayacán, and Panamá), with the commitment to plant them at their schools as a symbol of the area's reforestation efforts.

Planting these trees contributes to Sustainable Development Goal #13 “Climate Action” and SDG #15 “Life on Land”. Furthermore, it engages the community in understanding the importance of achieving these goals by 2030.
