The first champions of an international bodyboarding event held in our territory were crowned on the waves of Los Tumbos.
The waves of the Costa Rican Caribbean did not disappoint and provided good consistency for the great spectacle of the first international bodyboarding event.
This first edition of the Tumbos Pro Bodyboard featured three categories: Open Men, Open Women, and Dropknee. 
The event was attended by some competitors from different parts of the world, undoubtedly an ingredient that added a special spice to the competition.
The final results for each category were as follows:

Men's Open:
1. Pierre Louis Costes (FRA)
2. Sammy Morretino (HAW)
3. Marlon Sandoval (CRI)
3. MartÃn Artavia (CRI)

Women's Open:
1. Verónica Correa (PAN)
2. Anaïs Mendoza (PRI)
3. Beatriz Areleo (COL)
3. Antonella Ramondo (ARG)

Dropknee:
1. Sammy Morretino (HAW)
2. Michelle Copetta (CHI)
3. Jeffrey Gómez (CRI)
4. William Fallas (CRI)

The winner of the nighttime event was Jefferson Calderón from Santa Teresa.
