The athlete training and selection process will be done by region and will seek to choose the best candidates for the upcoming commitments of the national team.

This weekend the first training session for the Paris, France 2024 Olympic process will begin and will be led by the official national team coach Diego Naranjo.
This training process is structured to visit four regions of the country, on two occasions, where training will be done with selected surfers from each place and from there they will be observed and assigned correction tasks, if necessary, in order to analyze their growth and start outlining a possible team with the best athletes on a second visit.
However, those who are selected must meet the CT, Challenger Series, QS and ALAS competition requirements, as their ranking level will determine their final priority for national representation dates.

The first training session will take place from October 7th to 9th at Jacó Beach, and the roster will include athletes from the Central and South Pacific regions. Additionally, there are athletes from the Caribbean on the roster; they are currently in the Pacific area due to the strong waves, as the peak surf season in the Caribbean begins around December and January, coinciding with their visit to the region for training.
