Here are all the details with the winners of the nine categories that were contested.

With a total of 70 participants in 9 competing categories, the first edition of the Tsunami Sushi Surfing Championships 2022 took place, an event produced by Surfing Republica.

In the Men's Open category, the big winner was Óscar Urbina, who throughout the tournament showed solid surfing and in a highly contested final, against José Joaquín López, Darshan Antequera and Sam Reidy, the Limón native managed to prevail.

In the women's category, Lia Díaz from Guanacaste arrived at Playa Hermosa to demonstrate her high level of skill and, surpassing Nataly Bernold, Maya Larripa and Emily Gussoni, managed to be crowned champion of the first edition of the Tsunami Sushi Championship 2022.

The waves did not disappoint in front of the Bowies Point facilities at Playa Hermosa, where those present enjoyed a great show and a Saturday full of good vibes.

This was undoubtedly one of the events in the last two years with the most categories and, consequently, the largest number of competitors. This motivates the organizers to continue working to bring new editions with new surprises for 2023.

The grand awards ceremony took place at Pesca Seafood in Jacó Walk, with music by Fuerza Dread, as well as the presence of the Monster girls, who also interacted with the public at the tournament, playing games and giving away Monster products.
