Surfing Republica - Óscar Urbina and Indiana Ferri conquer the second date of the National Surf Circuit

Surfers make the most of their home advantage and triumph at the second national stop.

With large waves and in very competitive finals, the champions of the second national surfing event were decided.

The crowds turned out in force in the Costa Rican Caribbean, and over two days of intense competition, local surfers Óscar Urbina and Indiana Ferri triumphed in the open category. Meanwhile, in the Junior Men's category, Italian-Costa Rican Leonardo Apreda won, while in the Women's category, Erika Berra took first place.

“I’m very happy with this victory here at home, excited to be able to show my surfing and do it here. I dedicate this win to my mother and all my friends and people who support me. I thank God for the victory and now to continue working,” Urbina said after his win.

“I dedicate this win to my parents without a doubt, I feel super happy to see the support here at home and to have been able to achieve this,” said Indiana Ferri.

In the boys' category, Romeo Stone won the event, while in the women's category, Mikela Castro took first place.

The waves at Playa Cocles generally never disappoint, and the best surfing in our country was visiting the Caribbean region, where local surfers showed their knowledge of the waves and made their home turf count.
