Surfing Republica - Costa Rican red tide continues its search for QS points

Costa Rican surfers will seek to enter the qualifying positions of the Challenger stops of the World Surf League.

The Barbados Surf Pro has started, and with Costa Rican surfers participating, valuable points for the Challenger classification are being contested in the waves of Soup Bowl.

Today, surfers Sam Reidy, Darshan Antequera, and Christian Cantrell participated, with Reidy and Antequera qualifying for the next round of the event, while Cantrell unfortunately had to withdraw.

Now the Costa Ricans in the second round will have to face rivals from the United States and Brazil.

Also participating in the event are Latinos Alan Cleland (MEX), Derek Gomes (VEN), Brian Pérez (ESV), Gianmarco Oliva (DOM) and Tao Rodríguez (PAN).

The event also has Costa Rican female representation, with Leilani McGonagle, Eva Woodland and Rubiana Brownell, who will seek to advance as far as possible in this QS 3,000 pt stop.

The women's side will also feature Latin American surfers from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Colombia.
