Surfing Republica - Malakai Martínez and Rachel Agüero triumph at the Santa Teresa Surf Open


The best of Costa Rican surfing moved to Santa Teresa this past weekend.

National surfing competitions returned this weekend with the Santa Teresa Surf Open, where the best and most consistent national competitors and the international presence of some competitors, provided a great show during two days of action.

In total, eight categories were contested, and from the youngest to the most experienced, with short boards and long boards, a varied and successful show on the waves was more than guaranteed.


In the women's competition, surfer Rachel Agüero showed her strength and once again confirmed that her level is very high, winning the Open Women's and Junior Women's categories.

In the men's category, the winner was the local from Tamarindo, Malakai Martínez, while the Junior Men's category was won by the local Jesús Pérez.
