Surfing Republica - Leilani McGonagle advances to the semifinals of the Barbados Surf Pro
Costa Rican adds his third QS semifinal so far in 2022.
With powerful surfing and excellent competition tactics, the local from Playa Pavones, Leilani McGonagle managed to advance to the semifinals of the Barbados Surf Pro, surpassing the Colombian Izzy Gómez with a combination of 10.83 pts. 
McGonagle will now have to face American Sawyer Lindblad in the semifinals, who is the favorite to win the title in Barbados. 
Leilani, currently at the event, has guaranteed at least 1950 points for her ranking and could continue adding points if she advances in her next series. 
The Costa Rican athlete is currently in tenth position in the qualifying ranking for the Challenger dates, where only the top eight in the QS table will be able to compete in the dates that will qualify the next CT athletes.
