Leilani McGonagle will have to defend her Barbados Surf Pro title at Soup Bowl, as well as seek the points needed to qualify for the Challenger events.
Costa Rican surfer Leilani McGonagle began her climb to accumulate as many points as possible at the Barbados Surf Pro, an event in which the local from Playa Pavones already knows what it is to win in 2018.
However, this event will not be at the popular left-hand wave of Drill Hall Beach, where she emerged victorious, but this time, with a QS 3,000 pts, the right-hand waves of Soup Bowl will challenge the surfers seeking qualification for the CT.

Today, Leilani managed to advance in first position in her first test at the event and facing the Americans Autumn Hays, Lily Pierce and Malia Osterkamp in the sixth series of the second round, the national managed to take first position in the heat with a combination of 11.47 pts.
Leilani, now in the third round, will face three North Americans again in the third heat.
The national representatives Eva Woodland and Rubiana Brownell were also competing in the event, however, unfortunately they did not advance in their series.
