With a large audience and extraordinary surfing quality from the competitors, the first date of the Surfing Night Festival was held.

The event kicked off at 2:00 pm with the trials to determine the four spots that would also be available in the main event. Gilbert Brown, Ethan Hollander, Yemaya Chatel, and David Monge emerged victorious and will now look to advance as far as possible in the main event, or perhaps even pull off an upset.

At 7:00 pm the main event competition began and with a large crowd present to enjoy the show and the good vibes, the excitement was more than guaranteed.

In the water, the quality of the surf was very high and on the sand, a night harmonized by DJ Enso and DJ G in the area of the Vida Hermosa Restaurant, in addition to the band Mustang 65, were ideal ingredients to have a great time.

From the initial round, heat by heat were very exciting; however, only four surfers in the grand final would fight for the victory of this first stop of night surfing.
The final was contested by Anthony Segura, Axel Castro, Sam Reidy and José Joaquín López, the latter would obtain the great victory, followed by Sam in second place, Axel in third position and Anthony would close in fourth place of the event.
“I am very happy to be able to win this event, it has been a great night, a good audience, a high level of competitors and excellent organization, now we hope to prepare for the next date of night events and other commitments,” said José Joaquín López at the end of the series.

The overall ranking will be distributed over three night dates, and this first event was a 1-star event, meaning 1,000 points for the ranking, which will be available soon on the Surfing Republica website.
The evening also featured a skateboarding exhibition, thanks to Costa Rican rider Mulisha Murillo.
