Costa Rica concludes its participation in SUP Surf and will compete tomorrow, Tuesday, in the Longboard category.

Yesterday the action began at the Panama 2022 Pan American Games, where our country would enter the water with one competitor, the local from Nosara, José Ruiz.

Ruiz managed to put on a pretty interesting performance in the heat, however, in the final minutes, after being close to qualifying, he was relegated to third place in the series and thus says goodbye to the event.

“I’m a little hurt by the judges’ decision. In my opinion, I think they were swayed by the country’s name and experience in other tournaments, and in the final seconds, they gave the qualification to someone else. But I’m grateful to everyone who supported me. I think it hurts more to have let you and my family down than to have lost a heat, but I’ll keep working, and I hope good things will come after this. I’m very proud to represent Costa Rica, and next time we’ll do even stronger,” said José Ruiz after his heat.
