Today the PASA Games Panama 2022 begin and Costa Rica will be looking to put on a great performance in order to improve its ranking for Santiago 2023.
Today at 8:00 am, the competition at the Panama 2022 Pan American Games will officially begin on the beautiful Venao beach in Pedasí. On opening day, only the SUP Surf category will be held, and our country will be represented by local Nosara native José Ruiz, who will compete in his first heat of the event at approximately 12:40 pm.
Despite not offering direct qualification for the Olympic Games, the PASA Games Panama 2022 will be of great importance for a possible qualification in Santiago 2023, because they will determine the placement rankings for the initial series in Chile and in case of good performances, the Costa Ricans could be placed in a better scenario, at least in the first round.

This will be the heat and schedule for the Costa Rican competitor today:
Round 1 Men's SUP Surf Category - starts 11:00 am
Heat # 6 - 12:40 pm
Geronimo Rogers (ARG)
José Neftalí Ruiz Avilés (CRI)
Felipe Marthe (COL)
David Ibem (COL)
Should Ruiz advance in his category, he will be re-entering the water at 2:20 pm
