Compartir
Five of the six Costa Ricans who competed today advanced in their respective heats of the main event.

Today it was the turn of the Under-16 boys' and Under-18 girls' categories. In the boys' competition, Romeo Stone and David Monge were the first to compete and both advanced to the second main round, finishing second in their heats. Later in the afternoon, the last Costa Rican of the day, Ethan Hollander, competed. The local athlete from Dominical fought hard in his heat but ultimately finished third and was sent to the repechage round.

The girls also demonstrated their level in the under-eighteen ladies, where Auxiela Ryan, Rachel Agüero and LÃa DÃaz advanced in second position in their series in the main event.

Currently, the national team has a 66.7% performance rate, with 8 out of 12 participants advancing to the second round of the main event. This includes Rachel Agüero in both categories in which she competes. However, Costa Rica still has 100% of its athletes in contention for a World Championship medal, as even though 4 athletes were eliminated in the repechage, they could still reach the final.
The competition continues tomorrow at La Bocana and El Sunzal in El Salvador, and you can watch the event live at: https://isasurf.org/event/2022-el-salvador-isa-world-juniors-surfing-championship/
