Surfing Republica - En Puerto Rico se repartirán las últimas 14 plazas olímpicas para el Surf

Surfing Republic - The last 14 Olympic spots for surfing will be awarded in Puerto Rico.

The 2024 World Surfing Games will be held in Puerto Rico and will be the last chance for athletes to secure an Olympic berth.

The ISA has confirmed that the 2024 World Surfing Games will be held on the island of Puerto Rico, and El Pico and Rastrial de Margara have been chosen as the venues to award 5 men's and 7 women's Olympic berths, in addition to 2 more berths for the winning nations. The event is currently tentatively scheduled for February 22nd to March 2nd, but these dates are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Quality waves for a world championship that will be the athletes' last chance to fulfill their dream of being at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

For this final Olympic qualifying stage, two fundamental points must be taken into account, which are:

1- “In the event that a National Olympic Committee exceeds the number of athletes allowed for the Paris 2024 competition, the place for the ISA 2023 World Surfing Games or the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games will be reassigned to the highest-ranked surfer in the continent and event in question.”

2- “The highest-ranked National Olympic Committee in the men’s competition at the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games will win a place at Paris 2024. In the event that a National Olympic Committee (NOC) already has two athletes qualified for the Paris 2024 Games, this NOC may register a third to compete in the Olympic surfing event.”
