Gussoni will be traveling to the European continent for several high-level competitions.
Emily Gussoni, a surfer originally from Playa Jacó, recently signed with the prestigious brand O'Neill and will now be part of the team again.
The brand has once again sponsored the athlete, as it was one of the surfer's first sponsors.
Gussoni will take advantage of this sponsorship to compete in different European competitions, proudly displaying the brand at the top of his leaderboard.
Emily shared with us what this sponsorship means to her, and also told us a little about how the surfing community in Italy has received her, after she made the decision to opt for her dual nationality and represent the country of the old continent.
How do you feel about this sponsorship from the O'Neill brand?
I'm super motivated, happy, and grateful for this new opportunity. A few years ago, I had the chance to work with the brand; in fact, it was one of my first sponsors, and I really like the brand. Now, I'm proud to be part of the team again.
What are your next goals with the brand and in competitions?
I'm currently very focused and training for the upcoming competitions in Europe, in France, England, and Portugal. I'm very motivated to represent such an important brand and I'll do my best so we can grow together.
How was the approach to the brand?
As I mentioned before, I had worked with them several years ago and they already knew a little about my work. Now, in this new stage, they contacted me and I hope to repay their trust with the best possible results.
How is competing in Europe compared to Latin America?
The level of surfing in both regions is quite high, what I do miss when I travel to Europe is surfing in a bikini and the warm weather.

How have you been treated by Italian surfers after changing your nationality and starting to compete for Italy?
I've had their full support—from the Federation, Fiamme Oro, and the sport's fans. They're investing in surfers and trying to help as much as they can.
