The invitational Big Wave Tournament left a great impression on the mystical wave of Roca Loca.
This week another edition of the Roca Loca Pro took place, an invitational event that is run with surfers specialized in these wave conditions.

For the second year in a row, Darshan Antequera from Jacob proved that this tournament is one of his favorites, and achieving the back-to-back championship, he overcame Sam Reidy, Óscar Urbina and the experienced Gilbert Brown in the final.
“Winning the Roca Loca Pro is a great honor for me. It’s a tournament I look forward to all year so I can compete. I’ve been surfing that wave with my dad since I was 12, so I know it very well, and having the opportunity to compete there is a really cool feeling. Plus, ACOS ensures there’s always a high level of competition, since they incentivize us with good cash prizes,” said Darshan Antequera.
The surfers battled against difficult conditions, however, they displayed a high level of skill and those present enjoyed a great show.
In the women's competition, Nicaraguan Candelaria Resano, who was in the country competing in an ALAS Pro Tour event, achieved victory on this mystical wave, while Rachel AgĂĽero and Kristel Stanley took second and third place respectively.

The boys under 18 also saw participation and an inspired Matiw González won the day, overtaking Tosh Talbot in second place, León Cerezo in third place and Mario Cardona in fourth place.
This event was organized by the Costa Rican Surfing Association (ACOS) and provided a great opportunity for surfers to once again compete in an event on this historic wave of the Costa Rican Central Pacific.
