Those selected will go thanks to the efforts of the people with financial contributions in a fundraising campaign.
Thanks to a great effort by Costa Rican surfing enthusiasts and contributions from foreigners who love this country as if it were their own, Costa Rica will be able to attend the 2022 Pan American Surf Games.
A few days ago, the Costa Rican Surfing Federation announced that, unfortunately, it lacked the funds to send a national team to the Pan American Games in Playa Venao, Panama. This news was met with great shock by surf enthusiasts in Costa Rica, and a solution was immediately sought: a GoFundMe campaign was created to raise as much money as possible to send a team of athletes to represent the country in Panama.

The Costa Rican team will travel tomorrow in the early morning hours by land and will consist of:
Open:
Oscar Urbina
Maykol Torres
Andreas Schneider
Malakai Martinez
Â
Ladies:
LÃa DÃaz
Erika Berra
Kristel Standley
Rachel Agüero
Â
Longboard:
Dorian Torres
Marcelo Cheetah
The team was selected based on the ranking of the 2021 challenger dates and the longboard event held in Santa Teresa the previous year.
The team is traveling highly motivated and with the best attitude, accompanied by team guides Diego Naranjo and Mike Castro, who will be the support for the selected players who will seek to leave the tricolor flag at the top.
The Pan American Surf Games Playa Venao, Panama 2022 will take place from August 7 to 13.
