The initial selection was based on results from the WSL CT, WSL Challenger, WSL QS Regional, WSL Pro Junior, ALAS, and CNS 2023 events. Athlete availability was then considered, and the final roster was drawn up accordingly. Unfortunately, athletes like Anthony Fillingim, who had achieved good results and participated in a QS Regional event the previous month, could not be included due to his absence from competition for almost three years. Furthermore, because the National Olympic Committee requires a roster submitted up to two months in advance, the local athlete from Santa Teresa and several others could not be included.

The Pan American Games will take place in Santa Catalina, Panama from April 21 to 30 and will award 42 spots for the Santiago Pan American Games, which will grant Olympic berths.
