Costa Rican surfer would have a new opportunity to show off his best surfing on the Pipeline wave.
Moroccan surfer and current CT racer Ramzi Boukhiam injured his ankle while preparing for the Pipeline Pro, opening the possibility for Carlos Muñoz to participate in the first CT stop of 2023.
Let's remember that Muñoz was awarded the replacement wildcard and for this reason he is first on the list in case of any injury or absence of CT runners.

The WSL notified the Costa Rican about Boukhiam's situation and now we will have to wait until January 25 to observe the evolution of the Moroccan's injury and from there the possible participation of the Costa Rican will be determined.
“Cali” would enter as the second to last ranking and would change the series of the commitment.
