The Costa Rican signs with one of the most recognized brands in Latin America and the world.
Costa Rican surfer Carlos Muñoz returned to compete in the world's top surfing circuit, and his participation also brought good news, as the national secured a commercial sponsorship agreement with the Corona brand.
Thanks to this sponsorship, “Cali” will tell his story of how he entered the CT, where unfortunately due to his injury in Pipe he had to leave the tour for some dates and therefore did not manage to add to a new qualification for the second part of the tour after the mid-year cut.
“I am very grateful to Corona, a company that supports sports and sustainability. We are from Costa Rica, always 100% committed to nature, so I am very grateful to be part of such a great company. I hope to produce good content and showcase the biodiversity that exists in the world,” Carlos Muñoz told Surfing Republica.

This support will greatly benefit the Costa Rican, who is just recovering from a shoulder injury and will once again seek qualification for the World Tour through the Challenger route.
“I’m very happy for Carlos to receive this level of recognition, and I give special thanks to Felipe Ambra and Merori Terraskin for believing in the project. The agreement we’ve reached with them also aims to tell Carlos’s entire story through a full audiovisual production, showcasing the journey of this Latin American and Costa Rican idol,” said Gustavo Duccini, Carlos Muñoz’s representative.

It's worth mentioning that "Cali" is competing in the Surf City El Salvador Pro 2022, the seventh stop on the CT tour, thanks to a wildcard awarded by the World Surf League. The Salvadoran surfer will likely face American Griffin Colapinto in the elimination round tomorrow, seeking a spot in the round of 16.
