Surfing Republica - Carlos Muñoz advances to the round of 32 surfers in Portugal
“Cali” surpasses Kelly Slater and will now await her next opponent for the round of 32 athletes.
Carlos Muñoz got off to a great start in Peniche, qualifying directly for the round of 32 surfers. In this third event, Muñoz avoided the elimination round after showcasing excellent surfing and surpassing multi-world champion Kelly Slater.
Carlos started the heat strong and as the minutes went by, he consolidated his combined score of 8.67 points, thus demonstrating that he is coming with everything for this European stage. 
The Costa Rican managed to obtain second place in the series and will now have to wait to find out his next opponent, who will emerge after the opening round and elimination round.
