Jacó Beach did not disappoint and hosted the best of continental surfing for the first date of the ALAS Pro Tour.
This weekend, the first stop of the ALAS Pro Tour 2022 was a great success, and with the presence of more than 70 athletes, continental surfing thrilled the large audience that came to the beautiful beach of Jacó.
The Tsunami Sushi ALAS Pro Tour, with one star for men and two stars for women, is the start of a journey with a goal in Paris 2024, as this year the tour will award 2 places for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
The surf conditions were challenging for a small part of the two days of competition, however the waves were up to par and the high level of the athletes made for a great show.
The event was contested by competitors with some nationalities outside the region; however, they are athletes residing in countries that do belong to the continent and therefore obtain the organization's endorsement to participate.

The event concluded successfully, and the winner of the men's open final was Bryan Pérez from El Salvador, who, with various combinations of maneuvers, achieved a total score of 15.47 points, thus taking first place. The podium was completed by two Costa Ricans in second and third place: Óscar Urbina and the local Jacó native, Darshan Antequera, while fourth place went to Tao Rodríguez from Panama.

In the ladies' competition, the big winner was the German Noah Klapp, who, demonstrating her high level, scored a total of 13.70 points, leaving the Costa Ricans Rubiana Brownell and Leilani McGonagle in second and third place respectively, while the Nicaraguan Candelaria Resano conquered fourth place.

The event concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winners on the stage of the international concert featuring Gondwana, Los Pericos and Mekatelyu, in addition to the grand catwalk show by the brand Cámelo.

The next ALAS stop will take place on July 30 and 31 in Punta Rocas, Peru, at the High Performance Center facilities, for the Open men and women, Longboard and Junior categories.
