Surfing Republica - Brisa Hennessy momentarily returns as the best surfer in the world
Hennessy would return to the top spot in the world, provided Johanne Defay does not win the Margaret River Pro.
Brisa Hennessy finishes in 5th place at the Margaret River Pro, however, thanks to a combination of results, the Costa Rican is momentarily the new leader of the world tour.
Brisa Hennessy earned a total of 4,745 points at the fifth CT stop, bringing her overall ranking to 28,185 points. The only way the Matapalo native could lose her world number one ranking is if France's Johanne Defay wins the event in Australia. If that doesn't happen, Hennessy will return to surf the next tournament wearing the yellow rash guard and as the best female surfer in the world. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🇨🇷🇨🇷
