The national team also guaranteed to be within the top 10 at the mid-year cutoff and with this be able to run all the CT 2022 stops, to fight for the top 5 in search of qualifying for the Rip Curl WSL Finals that defines the winner of the world title.
Brisa Hennessy's performance this year has been simply extraordinary. The Matapalo native has managed to maintain her position as the world's best surfer since winning at Sunset Beach, the second stop of the CT 2022, and could continue with this position, provided she advances in her next heat, which she will compete against Carissa Moore.
Thanks to these results obtained during 2022, Brisa has secured her place on the 2023 tour. Furthermore, the Costa Rican will be within the top 10 after the next event in Margaret River, guaranteeing that she can compete in all the tour stops this year and thus fight to remain in the top 5 and contend for the world title.

Hennesy could advance to the grand final of this fourth CT stop this afternoon; however, to do so she must surpass her closest competitor in the rankings, Carissa Moore. If she advances, the Costa Rican will maintain her number one position and wear the yellow jersey for three consecutive stops. If she fails to advance, she will still earn 6,085 points, bringing her total to 23,440, but would be overtaken by Moore at the top of the rankings. Brisa has achieved a 5th place, a 1st place, and a 9th place this year and is currently guaranteed a 3rd place, but she could improve upon that.
Today the competition could return to the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach 2022 and the call to competition is scheduled for 2:45 pm (Costa Rican time).
