Surfing Republica - Brisa Hennessy está a un heat de la semifinal del CT en Indonesia

Surfing Republica - Brisa Hennessy is one heat away from the CT semi-final in Indonesia

Brisa Hennessy will face Australian Bronte Macaulay in the quarterfinals in Indonesia and will depend on herself to keep the yellow jersey before the date in El Salvador.

Costa Rican surfer Brisa Hennessy is competing in the sixth stop of the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour, taking place in G-Land, Banyuwangi, Indonesia. She advanced from her first heat in first place, securing her spot in the quarterfinals, where she awaits her opponent.

But Hennessy will not only have the responsibility of trying to advance her heat, but she will also have to try to advance at least to the final of the tournament and ensure that her rival is not Carissa Moore, the only surfer still in the tournament who could surpass the Costa Rican in the ranking.

The fight will undoubtedly be intense and without room for error. Brisa needs to win the tournament to guarantee the top spot, or reach the final and hope Carissa doesn't win. Furthermore, if both Brisa and Carissa lose in the quarterfinals, the Costa Rican player would still lose her ranking.

The positive thing for Hennessy in this event is that her rivals in third, fourth and fifth place have been eliminated and at least Brisa will arrive at the seventh stop as leader or runner-up of the tour.

The action will continue tonight with the elimination round and men's round of 16, therefore the national team will not compete today, Thursday.
