Surfing Republica - Arrancó la segunda parada Challenger y Leilani se medirá a dos australianas y una japonesa

Surfing Republica - The second Challenger stop has begun and Leilani will face two Australians and one Japanese surfer.

The second stop of the 2022 World Surf League Challenger has begun, and our country will be represented by Leilani McGonagle.

This afternoon marked the start of the first day of action at the Sydney Surf Pro, the second Challenger stop on the WSL tour. The event kicked off with the men's category, a category in which our country currently has no representatives; however, Carlos Muñoz will be joining them in upcoming events.

In the women's division, Leilani McGonagle will proudly carry the Costa Rican flag in Sydney, seeking to accumulate as many points as possible for a spot in the CT 2023.

McGonagle will face Australians Molly Picklum and Sasha Baker and Japanese Rina Matsunaga in the eighth first-round heat, a heat that will challenge the national to continue in the event.

It's very likely that Leilani won't compete today, but rather in the coming days. We'll keep an eye on the national competition and bring you all the details.
