Surfing Costa Rica - Surfers from Santa Teresa unite to bring smiles to local children
Santa Teresa Expression Sessions: the project that hopes to help surfing on the Peninsula.
In order to encourage and support surfing among the new generations in the Montezuma area, the organizer and commentator of the Santa Teresa Expression Sessions, Aaron Henkel, joined several surfers from the Santa Teresa area to donate surfboards to twenty-four boys from the Montezuma Groms team.
The donation for these children was made possible thanks to the movement of surfers such as Anthony Fillingim, Ramon Taliani, Lorenzo Wickstrom, Aaron Henkel, Samy Loutzy, among many other collaborators who donated and searched for the boards to make this possible. 
“We are extremely happy and grateful to the people of Santa Teresa who supported this project. We managed to collect a board for each child, which exceeded our expectations and opens our minds to continue with more projects. It is a pleasure for us to do this; everything comes from the heart, and we are aiming for more,” stated Aaron Henkel, head of the Henkel company.
Henkel hopes to positively impact the growth of surfing in Santa Teresa, Montezuma, Mal PaĂs and other nearby places, and with this idea the Santa Teresa Expression Sessions (STĂ‹Z) project was born, which initially hopes to create the Boardriders and Club foundation to provide support to children in the area and carry out activities.
The Foundation hopes to secure the support of companies and individuals through annual memberships to keep this project afloat, and in return, they will receive benefits through business deals and materials from sponsors.
The company's next step is to launch the Santa Teresa Expression Sessions, a weekly competition that will provide a platform for surfers to have tournaments and be able to support themselves financially.
The new Air Show is scheduled to begin on December 4, 2021, with four categories: Best Aerial, Best Power Surfing Maneuver, Best Combination of Maneuvers on a Wave, and a category for surfers under 16 years old. The first three categories will award $350 in prizes, while the under-16 categories will receive products from sponsors.
