Surfing Costa Rica - Playa Hermosa de Garabito contará con guardavidas municipales para esta Semana Santa

Surfing Costa Rica - Playa Hermosa de Garabito will have municipal lifeguards for this Holy Week

In order to resume the municipal lifeguard project in Playa Hermosa, an idea that had stalled due to a lack of budget and the issue of Covid-19, the Municipality of Garabito will place the Head of Aquatic Rescue, Mr. Mar Chen Pérez, in the Playa Hermosa sector.

Pérez will begin his duties on Saturday and will be on duty every day of Holy Week, in order to minimize the risk to visitors on a beach with strong currents and powerful waves.

“For me it is important to be able to help this community with this issue. I know it is not easy, but we will achieve it little by little. I just ask for a lot of patience and support,” said Mar Chen.

Previously, Playa Hermosa had the prestigious support of the Playa Hermosa Lifeguards of Garabito, however, due to a personal decision, the service was suspended.

The municipality expects a very positive outcome during Pérez's presence in this sector and to continue with this service later; in addition, Herradura beach, Jacó beach, and other areas will also have a surveillance patrol.
