Surfing Costa Rica - Tourism Minister resigns from her post
María Amalia Revelo leaves her post as Minister of Tourism.
This afternoon, President Carlos Alvarado announced the resignation of María Amalia Revelo, Minister of Tourism until today.
Ms. Revelo had been absent from her position since May 30 due to a health problem.
"I want to reiterate my admiration; I feel deeply proud to have been part of your cabinet and to have had the opportunity to close my 40-year professional career serving the country ," Revelo said in her resignation letter.
The former minister underwent a rather delicate surgical procedure and is currently in the recovery stage; however, the resignation is "immediate and irrevocable," the Presidency said.
His position will be filled by Gustavo Segura, an economist from the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and a master from INCAE, President Carlos Alvarado announced.
