National longboard racer will be part of the MexiLog Fest in June 2021.
One of the most important events in the world of classic longboarding, the MexiLog Fest, has confirmed that it will take place in June of 2021.
This is great news for fans of this sport, as events of this kind have not been held for several months, bringing together the best longboarders in the world.

The MexiLog Fest is an invitational event, therefore only competitors who have been taken into account by the organization will attend, making this tournament one of the most select of its kind.
Some of the names that will be in this commitment to be contested between June 4 and 13 in Punta Burros, Nayarit, Mexico, are: Kai Stewart, Mike Lay, Kevin Skavarna, Noah Shimabukuru, Kai Takayama, Augusto Olinto, Brendan White, among many others.

Costa Rican longboarder Dorian Torres has been one of the select guests for the event and the national hopes to give his best to uphold the name of Costa Rica as he already did in the previous world championship of the International Surfing Association (ISA) obtaining an eighth place.
“For me, MexiLog Fest is one of the best tournaments in the world. I've always wanted to be there. I tried to participate in previous years, but it wasn't until last year that Israel, one of the main organizers, invited me for the next edition. I was surfing in Santa Cruz, California for a few months and had the opportunity to meet him. He saw me surf and invited me to an event where the best in the world compete. Unfortunately, in Costa Rica, it's quite difficult to succeed in longboarding, and I've been training more in California to represent my country. It's very difficult for a Costa Rican longboarder because of the lack of support. I'm really excited to be part of this event, which in my opinion is almost like a world championship. Currently, the Nosara CR Surf School is helping me, and I'm very grateful to Carlos Mendieta and Maikol Álvarez, who have supported me tremendously. I'm very happy with my CJ Nelson board, which has helped me a lot in my surfing, and I wish I could race for them,” Dorian Torres told Surfing Republica.
The local from Playa Samara has been living in Nosara for two months now, after his time in California where he was training and looking for a higher level to represent our country.
The Costa Rican will be at this event and then hopes to be part of the next three World Surf League (WSL) longboard world dates to be held next August and September.
Dorian will travel to these events at his own expense and is open to receiving donations. To support the athlete, you can contact him via WhatsApp at +1 (831) 400-9204
