Surfing Costa Rica - World Surf League announces the updated CT 2021 schedule



The tour includes a stop in Mexico for the first time in 15 years and women surfing at Teahupo'o for the first time since 2006, and the Challenger Series is announced.


The World Surf League announced the updated schedule of upcoming CT dates for 2021.

The schedule has several surprises, among them the already known closing that will not be in Hawaii, then the visit to Mexico for the first time in 15 years and also a very important fact is the female presence in the waves of Teahupo'o, for the first time since 2006.


After the fourth and final event of the current Australian leg, the CT will continue as follows:

September 8-17, 2021

As for the Challenger Series, surfers seeking to qualify for the CT will have to compete in four stops this season, spread across events in California, Portugal, France, and Hawaii.


The Sydney Surf Pro and Piha Pro New Zealand Challenger Series tournaments have been postponed until 2022 due to COVID-19. The WSL hopes to return to these key Challenger Series stops in 2022.
