Costa Rican BMX rider Kenneth Tencio spoke out after observing some ramp parks created in our country.
Tencio expressed his displeasure at the lack of guidance in the creation of the infrastructure, stating that it is built incorrectly and unsafely for both BMX and skateboard enthusiasts.

The world-class rider, currently qualified for the Olympic Games in his discipline, claims that these ramps are not consistent with his measurements and angles and that they would cause injuries or bad practices among current and future athletes.
“ I invite you to get informed. Over the years, I've seen many resources and parks go to waste. I want to bring about change in my country, but we can only do it together. Great skaters like AndrĂ© RamĂrez , or in BMX, like Lou Uba, have managed to change the course of many parks that were going to be a waste. I call on construction companies and municipalities to ensure that their investment is truly in projects that have the support of athletes. I love Costa Rica and I want to see more riders, skaters, and others competing abroad without being limited by poorly constructed infrastructure,” Tencio stated on his official Instagram account.

The Costa Rican athlete's warning comes after he visited a facility being built in Orotina. However, he points out that there are others like it in many parts of the country, and that he himself had to build his own ramp in Playa JacĂł, where he lives, all in order to prepare himself correctly to achieve the best possible performance.
