The Costa Rican delegation will compete in the Gator Nationals event in Cape Coral.
With a total of eleven athletes ranging in age from six to 20 years old, the Costa Rican delegation travels to compete in the Gator Nationals, the second date of the American BMX Racing or Bicicross championship.
The official competition begins tomorrow and will run until Sunday; however, the Costa Rican riders have taken advantage of their stay in the United States to test their strength in local competitions and maintain their competitive rhythm prior to this second national event.
In these local competitions, several Costa Ricans have won medals, among them the rider from Heredia stands out, and at only eight and a half years old, we are talking about Samuel Cascante, a boy who loves BMX and is the current national champion in his category, who is making his debut in competitions on American soil.

An important fact about these BMX Racing enthusiasts is that all the travel costs were covered by themselves and their families, an added incentive that further motivates the Costa Rican representatives to perform well.
The Costa Rican competitors attending the Gator Nationals are as follows:
Franco Castillo - Cat 6 Intermediate / 6 and under Mix
Emmanuel VÃquez - Cat 7 Intermediate / 7 and 8 Mix
Samuel Cascante - Cat 8 Intermediate / 7 and 8 Mix
