World Surfing Champions maintain their dominance in Australia.
Showing an excellent level throughout the competition, surfers Ítalo Ferreira and Carissa Moore, current World Surfing Champions, took the victory on the waves of Newcastle, Australia.
The surprise of the event came from Queensland's local player Isabella Nichols, who, with a high level of play, managed to secure a place in the grand final and face the experienced Carissa Moore. However, the Honolulu native demonstrated the high level she is experiencing in her career and triumphed for the first time in this 2021 season and is currently first in the women's ranking.

On the men's side, a Brazilian final, featuring Gabriel Medina and Ítalo Ferreira, added a very special element to the match, and an inspired Ferreira sealed his first victory of 2021 and is currently first in the CT ranking, closely followed by Medina.
Representing the nation, Brisa Hennessy finished ninth in Newcastle and is currently in fifteenth place in the overall ranking.
The Championship Tour action will continue in New South Wales in five days for what will be the third stop of the World Surf League season.
