Surfing Costa Rica - Ítalo Ferreira, John John Florence and other favorites say goodbye to the third CT stop in Australia

Favorites to win in Narrabeen maintain their solid pace.
After three intense days of competition at the third stop of the Championship Tour (CT), we highlight some details and surprises experienced in Narrabeen.
In the women's draw, the constant has been the high level of play from the favorites to win, such as Carissa Moore, Stephanie Gilmore, and Courtney Conlogue, among others. Also noteworthy is the surprise performance of France's Johanne Defay, who, after falling in the first round and having to play in the elimination round, has achieved the highest scores of the tournament so far (8.33 points, 8.33 points, and 8.00 points).

On the other hand, the men have had a CT stop that was a bit full of surprises, as some favorites to win, including the current World Champion, Ítalo Ferreira, have fallen earlier than expected.
Athletes of the caliber of John John Florence, Jordy Smith, Filipe Toledo, among others, have been eliminated by surfers who initially didn't seem like favorites. However, surfing is a sport full of surprises, and the final rounds will feature athletes not so accustomed to these stages, with the exception of Gabriel Medina, who has shown he has a high level of skill and possesses the highest wave of the event with 9.00 points. But he will have to face another surprise in Narrabeen, such as the Australian Morgan Cibilic, and there is no doubt that we will see some very close quarter-final heats.

Another detail that pleases the surfing world, at least for this Australian stage, has been the return to CT competitions of the experienced Mick Fanning, who despite being eliminated, his presence continues to motivate the new generations of world surfers.

The Narrabeen Classic could continue today at 2:45 pm (Costa Rican time), if conditions warrant, and we could find out the winners of this third CT date.
