After completing 50 days of quarantine with the closure of beaches in this European country, they were reopened today, Saturday, exclusively for surfing.

The Spanish Government made it very clear that there are five requirements to be able to practice board sports, which are:

1- Surfing will be permitted from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and after 8:00 pm (if there is still daylight). However, for municipalities (cantons) with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, surfing is permitted all day.

2- The surfer must always carry his identity card.

3- No motor vehicle is allowed on the beach

4- Surfing is for locals only. Travel between municipalities is not permitted.

5- There will be no differentiated benefits for federated surfers.

In our country, it has been 41 days since the beaches were closed for any type of activity, and the Government, together with the Ministry of Health, has been working on the opening of different disciplines based on protocols presented by the Federations.

According to what the President of the Federation, Randall Chaves, informed him a few days ago, they were working on protocols to present to the Ministry of Health, which have already been submitted.

“The protocols have already been submitted to the Ministry of Sports, and they will be responsible for forwarding them to the Ministry of Health for a final decision.”

The protocol, as reported by Chaves, cannot be shown until it is approved by the Ministry of Health and the Government.
