Surfing Costa Rica - Famous world magazine highlights Costa Rica as a biodiversity paradise

National Geographic Spain highlights Costa Rica in its magazine as a unique and unforgettable destination full of numerous tourist attractions.

The renowned magazine National Geographic Spain highlighted our country in its May edition as a destination full of nature and multiple tourist attractions.

Rafael Pérez, a travel photojournalist for the famous magazine, highlighted destinations in a wide-ranging twenty-page publication, describing them as "Costa Rican wonders".

“A paradise of biodiversity, this country nestled between two oceans and crisscrossed by volcanoes and jungles has been contributing to the protection of its natural heritage for decades,” Pérez mentioned in the publication.

The article primarily highlights
the diverse wildlife and the striking contrast of landscapes within short distances. It also emphasizes the opportunity to observe a variety of animals, both terrestrial and aquatic. Furthermore, it underscores how the country abolished its army in 1948 and subsequently invested heavily in education.

Ireth Rodríguez, head of promotion at the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, commented on the publication: “We are very pleased with the extensive coverage in this prestigious magazine. The final result was amazing, as it shares stunning images and a narrative that invites potential tourists from Spain to immerse themselves in the nature and rich biodiversity of our country.”

The visit of the Spanish journalist to Costa Rica was coordinated in September of the previous year with the support of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute and the Blueroom communications agency in Spain, to strategically develop public relations and international press.

In the twenty pages, the publication explores the beauties of the entire country, highlighting places like Monteverde, Tortuguero, the northern and southern Caribbean, Liberia, and many other destinations.

This publication confirms that Costa Rica continues to be highlighted as one of the best places in the world to visit, since months ago the National Geographic Traveller magazine mentioned our country as a destination to discover in 2021.
