Lawmakers approve second debate to move this year's holidays to Mondays until 2024.
Today, the deputies in the Legislative Assembly approved the second debate of the bill that will place holidays on the nearest Monday.
This bill was created with the idea of ​​incentivizing the tourism sector, one of those most affected by the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, the holidays that were modified are the following:
- Saturday, July 25, 2020 will be moved to Monday, July 27.
-Saturday, August 15, 2020 will be moved to Monday, August 17.
- Tuesday, September 15, 2020 will be moved to Monday, August 14.
- Tuesday, December 1, 2020 will be moved to Monday, November 30.
- Saturday, May 1st, 2021 will be moved to Monday, May 3rd.
- Sunday, July 25, 2021 will be moved to Monday, July 26.
- Wednesday, September 15, 2021 will be moved to Monday, September 13.
- Wednesday, December 1, 2021 will be moved to Monday, November 29.
- Wednesday, September 15, 2022 will be moved to Monday, September 19.
- Wednesday, December 1st, 2022 will be moved to Monday, December 5th.
- Tuesday, April 11, 2023 will be moved to Monday, April 10.
- Tuesday, July 25, 2023 will be moved to Monday, July 24.
- Tuesday, August 15, 2023 will be moved to Monday, August 14.
- Thursday, April 11, 2024 will be moved to Monday, April 15.
- Thursday, July 25, 2024 will be moved to Monday, July 29.
- Thursday, August 15, 2024 will be moved to Monday, August 19.
Holidays that fall on a Sunday will continue as before in order to avoid impacting public and business finances.
