The World Surf League cancels and postpones its upcoming tournaments, and the continuation of the CT will depend on the evolution of COVID-19.
The state of Hawaii announced the complete suspension of surfing competitions until further notice. This decision includes the cancellation of upcoming World Surf League events on the island.
The CT dates at Sunset Beach and the big wave date at Pe'ahi were completely cancelled.

In addition, due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in California, the World Surf League (WSL) also decided to postpone the CT Santa Cruz Pro, which was scheduled for February 2-12, 2021.
This last event is also suspended due to the logistical challenge for the athletes and the organization because of the travel time they have had to endure during the pandemic.

WSL CEO Erik Logan announced on his Instagram account his gratitude to the governor of Maui and the communities of Maui and the North Shore for their hospitality towards the team. Erik, along with other staff members, tested positive for coronavirus while on the island, but they have since made a full recovery.
The Tour is expected to return in April when it visits the Australian island with the event at Bells Beach, provided that the pandemic situation allows it.
